The Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce organised its first Sociedad Gastrónomica dinner at Villa Bologna, as a way to promote networking in an informal atmosphere.

President Alfredo Munoz said he believed there is considerable potential for increased trade between Spain and Malta with businessmen in both countries only recently realising the considerable historical ties that have existed and which are waiting to be exploited.

“Of course, this has realistically only been possible with the direct flight links to Spain which, through continued growth, should help underpin future business initiatives,” he said. “Holding Malta’s first Sociedad Gastronómica – a dining club where the men cook typical Spanish food - gave existing members a relaxed environment to catch up, while potential members were treated to a unique introduction to the chamber,” MSCC secretary Javier Arriaga said.
