Thirteen people were injured when a passenger train collided with a bus in Croatia, state television reported.

The accident happened in the west of the country.

State television said a ramp designed to prevent road traffic from crossing in front of trains was damaged and the crossing remained open.

Police said two of the casualties were seriously injured.

An investigation is under way.
