United deal: Man. United have announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with PepsiCo. The deal will see PepsiCo become United’s official soft drinks partner in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei, holding exclusive rights to use the club’s branding on its products and point of sale materials within those markets.

Ramallets: Former Barcelona goalkeeper Antoni Ramallets has died at the age of 89. Ramallets played 473 games for Barca between 1946 and 1961 and won six La Liga titles, five Spanish Cups and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups during his time with the club. He was also a five-time winner of the Zamora trophy, awarded to the keeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio in La Liga at the end of the season.

Fair play: Bulgarian club Pirin Gotse Delchev threatened legal action against the domestic football union (BFU) after being accused of failing to respect the principles of fair play. Pirin were widely criticised for their performance in a 7-1 defeat at Botev Plovdiv on Saturday, prompting allegations of match-fixing by the media and a threat from the BFU to expel the club from the top division “if the performance against Botev becomes a trend”.

Boerrigter: Celtic have signed Derk Boerrigter from Ajax on a four-year deal subject to international clearance. The 26-year-old forward completed his medical in Glasgow yesterday and becomes Neil Lennon’s fourth recruit of the summer following the acquisitions of Amido Balde, Virgil Van Dijk and Steven Mouyokolo.
