MEP Marlene Mizzi has taken part in a number of meetings with the European Commission and ambassadors accredited to Nigeria during which she insisted on the need for the creation of a better future for African youths in Africa.

Ms Mizzi was in Abuja, Nigeria, representing the European Parliament’s Socialist and Democratic Group at the 10th regional meeting of the ACP-EU committee.

“Give young people a future in their own country so that they would not have to flee to Europe in search of a better future… They would not have to escape their country and go through the dangerous of the journey… This would also mitigate the problem of irregular migration in Europe,” she said.
