Around 20 passengers heading towards Armier Bay were left stranded in the scorching sun for 10 minutes after the driver told them that his shift was over.

The incident happened today around 1.20pm on bus number 37 which left Valletta at 12.13pm.

When the bus arrived at Għadira Bay, the driver unexpectedly stopped the vehicle on the bus stop next to the police station and the passengers, mostly tourists, were instructed to get off the bus.

They were told that another driver was on his way so that they could proceed with their journey. He then locked the bus and left. The second driver arrived about ten minutes later on a bus from Ċirkewwa.

One passenger told this portal the passengers were then made to wait another five minutes as the new driver told them that he needed to take his time before leaving.

A passenger has filed a complaint with Arriva.
