Prime Minister Joseph Muscat this morning visited the Ohloq tbissima marathon being held in St Joseph Home, Sta Venera, to raise funds for the home and MSSP Missions.

He commended the initiative saying that this sent a strong signal of Maltese generosity with those in need in foreign countries.

He remarked that in spite of the huge number of marathons organised throughout the year, people were still coming forward to donate money. He added that even when it came to irregular migration Malta's solidarity stood out.

The marathon started yesterday and continues till tomorrow at midnight. It features a round-the-clock entertainment programme. The public can attend at any time.  €34,894 has been collected by 10.45 this morning.
