The GWU has condemned the racist attack made against two Arriva drivers in Mgarr yesterday and appealed for action by the authorities.

It said such attacks, which were not a first, should not be tolerated by anyone.

The union appealed for cooperation by the public with the drivers and said drivers too should show respect to the public despite the difficulties which they face.

The Consumers' Association also condemned the attack, while pointing out that among the few good areas of the Arriva service was the fact that most drivers had earned the people's respect.
