First Division leading scorer Joseph Kayes scored a goal at the death to give Marsascala Mor€ a dramatic victory over Ta’ Xbiex Amigos to help his team move to 12 points at the top, equal with Valletta, but with a game more.

The first session one-goal advantage, after Ta’ Xbiex led 2-1, was maintained into the second quarter during which six goals were shared, with Yuri Szeles and Kayes, who eventually scored four times, the leading scorers

It had been pretty balanced and continued to be so.

Two goals for Marsascala made it momentarily 6-5 for them. But Otis Zammit scored twice and Andreas Galea added another one for a two-goal advantage for Ta’ Xbiex.

Fortunes changed in the last session until Gabor Hedegus netted his third goal to put his side 11-9 ahead.

But the Galeas, Anthony and Andreas, equalised before Kayes gave the southseasiders that dra-matic win for a 12-11 final scoreline.
