The International School of Hairdressing is an approved City and Guilds programme and examination centre and is licensed by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. For the past nine years, it has been successfully preparing hairdressing students for the City and Guilds diploma – this has now been renamed as Diploma in Men and Women Hairdressing.

The course is an in-depth study in the theory and practise of hairdressing. It is aimed at school-leavers aged 16 years and older who wish to pursue a hairdressing career as well as other hairdressers already working in a salon looking for a recognised international qualification. The school also provides an excellent opportunity for mums wishing to restart a career.

The course is over two scholastic years and is based on assignments and practical assessments on each module – lessons in theory and practice are carried out twice a week, either in the morning or in the evening in the fully equipped lecture room and salon. Practice sessions are carried out under the guidance of experienced and qualified tutors. City and Guilds certificate (MQF level 3) are issued based on the students’ achievements.

Once students obtain their diploma they may proceed to the Advanced Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing (IVQ Level 3, MQF Level 4). This course allows qualified hairdressers to focus on advanced and different techniques in haircuts, design and colour together with health and safety at the workplace. Students are required to prepare a model for a photo session as part of their final assignments.
