An international seminar in clinical pharmacy was recently held at the University.

It was organised by the Department of Pharmacy during an educational visit by 10 students from the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy, led by Prof. Jennifer Williams.

The seminar consisted of workshops, including sessions at Mater Dei Hospital, and patient interviews and discussions on clinical pharmacy education and service provision in Malta, the US and internationally.

Research studies in clinical pharmacy currently being conducted at the Department of Pharmacy were presented by undergraduate and postgraduate students. The research covered patient management and treatment in rheumatology, risk management in pharmacy and patient management in cardiovascular diseases.

The seminar enabled the local and US students to share their experiences and discuss issues related to the advancement of clinical pharmacy.
