I just read on Times of Malta that a Paris-born performer in the Cirque du Soleil died after a fall during a show in Las Vegas. I believe the time has finally come to ban humans in circuses to avoid this sort of tragedy ever happening again. Humans in circuses are degraded by being made to hurl themselves off trapezes while wearing dangerously tight spandex and remaining in control of their bowels.

These death-defying stunts sometimes result in the death of these unfortunate humans and the time is now ripe for a consultation process on circus humans. The Government must organise powwows and confabs with organisations and individuals interested in the welfare of humans with the goal of drawing up a White Paper to regulate the sector better and finally come to a decision on whether the country should ban humans in circuses. I, for one, would much rather see humans in their natural habitats than in a circus, say, bagging groceries, stuffing envelopes and working the ‘fryolator’ at a fast-food joint with a little paper hat on their head.
