A nursing officer yesterday filed a judicial protest against Health Minister Godfrey Scicluna over her “vindictive” transfer to Boffa Hospital in Floriana.

Frances Anastasi said her transfer was unjustified and would cause her serious psychological harm, as confirmed by a psychiatrist’s certificate.

She had served at St Luke’s Hospital since 1982, then moved to Mater Dei and was never the subject of any disciplinary proceedings.

After being told of the transfer she asked to be moved to the Mosta health centre due to family problems, but wanted to withdraw this.

The minister asked where else she could serve within Mater Dei, but texted her at 1am on July 3 saying no one was ready to accept her.

She was holding the minister responsible for any damages.

Lawyer Andrew Borg Cardona signed the protest.
