The government is reviewing plans prepared by the previous administration for a new building to house the Gozo law courts, with a view that this is relocated, Parliamentary Secretary for Justice Owen Bonnici said this morning.

Speaking during a visit to the crammed and inaccessible building, Dr Bonnici said the present building, which was once a palace for the Governor, was facing administrative and logistical difficulties, resulting in hardship for the workers there.

He said that along with the Gozo Ministry, his secretariat was looking into plans prepared by the previous administration for a new building to be constructed in another part of Victoria.

The present facilities include three small courtrooms and several other small room used to store court documents, court exhibits and files.
