The "Lou Bondi" story shows no signs of going away. I had thought I wouldn't bother with it any more, but all the snarling and snapping from the snivelling pups made me think again.

After all, when many of them keep chucking me into the mix, it tends to focus the mind and keep me interested in the story, especially when the goings-on at Castille seem to involve Mrs PM, air-brushed or not, and her twin bairns, who doesn't really interest me.

The snivelling pup in chief is, of course, Saviour Balzan, who seems to have got Bondi and little me firmly in his tiny jaws and he does keep worrying at us, like a chihuahua on speed.

Let me spell this out yet again for the benefit of Mr Balzan, who no doubt does not read this blog, but might be told about it. In words of one syllable, or as few as possible, then, so that even the meanest intelligence can grasp it: it is a lie to say that I have ever been or am a part of gang set up and run by the Gonzi clique to attack people. So, when Saviour Balzan writes this about me, generally while attacking Bondi, he is writing a lie. When Saviour Balzan says this about me, as he did in Court, under oath, he is saying a lie, and when you do that under oath, it is a criminal offence. I have asked the Police to take action, which will give Balzan the opportunity to defend himself and prove his statement.

The fact that he clearly thinks he can, with impunity, say what he likes about Bondi, myself and Daphne Caruana Galizia and not even entertain the notion that we might have something to say, indeed he comes over all precious when he is sued for libel, is irrelevant.

I've challenged him many times, virtually calling him a liar in print, and now it's up to the Police. And just for the sake of it, do please note that I am not objecting to the slew of epithets that Balzan up-chucks in my direction whenever he sees fit, he can do that all he likes, he's the one who comes across like the schoolyard bully with boorish manners.

The "Bondi Story" is not running only on Saviour Balzan's personal pages, of course. No less a masterful spinner of yarns than his faithful acolyte, Raphael Vassallo, has constructed a fabulous tale about Joseph Muscat appointing Bondi to High Office (for the sake of the literal minded, I have my tongue in my cheek) in order, amongst other objectives, to achieve greatness by emulating Eddie Fenech Adami.

I'm not entirely sure what Vassallo was getting at, because as is his wont, he rambled a bit, but the general drift of it was that Bondi's appointment was not A Good Thing, and this was proved by the way Bondi let Muscat off easy in his interview.

Don't ask me what he's on about, far be it from me to discern a method in that eccentricity. Strangely, or perhaps not, the Balzan, Vassallo duo has been made into a trio by the addition of that other snarling specimen, Joe Grima, who has been instrumental in propagating stories about people like Bondi and the rest of us being orchestrated by Pieta', regarding which he can see above and sue me if he doesn't like the idea of being called a liar.

The thing is, the people doing the attacking, the Balzans, the Vassallos and the Grimas of this world, are all players in the same field as their favourite targets: opinion writing and broadcasting.

Far be it from me to toot my own horn or anyone else's, but is it completely inappropriate for me to wonder whether this hasn't something to do with it?

Do the math.
