Emirates has been crowned the World’s Best Airline in a poll of over 18 million travellers from 160 countries.

The Dubai-based carrier was also named Best Middle East Airline and Best In-flight Entertainment at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Emirates Airline president Tim Clark collected the honours at the Paris Airshow.

“We are constantly striving to offer our customers consistent, world-class service that extends from the moment they make their booking to the moment they arrive home at the end of their journey,” said Mr Clark. “To be voted World’s Best Airline by millions of discerning travellers really is something for our 60,000 strong workforce to be proud of.”

Last year over 39 million customers flew with Emirates, connecting across the airline’s global network and enjoying the airline’s extensive onboard innovations, including the ICE in-flight entertainment system, offering more than 1,400 channels.

Emirates flies daily from Dubai to Malta via Larnaca, Cyprus, using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
