Prime Minister Joseph Muscat will have an audience with Pope Francis on Monday, the Government said.

He had attended the Pope’s inauguration in March, along with President George Abela and Lawrence Gonzi, who was then Opposition Leader.

Dr Muscat’s government wants to revise the agreement on Church-State relations, which deals in part with the nullity of marriages.

The issue has been prioritised in discussions with the Curia and the Vatican.

Dr Muscat will also attend meetings in Bulgaria and Libya over the weekend.
