A fortnight ago, together with my wife and son, I was waiting for our turn at the Well Baby Clinic of the Rabat health centre. With us there were another eight parents and their babies.

As soon as we entered the building, the heavy smell of cigarette smoke was evident. When I entered the lift, the smell was so strong that my son started coughing, so I had to lift the carry cot up the stairs. The awful smell was also all over the health centre.

I asked the staff there who admitted that this was an everyday occurrence, with the smell either coming down from the club situated above the clinic or up from the shops below, or both!

Can the authorities take heed and do something about it as soon as possible please?
