A more specialised skills-base and a review of MITA’s strategy on outsourcing were among the issues raised by the ICT Business Section at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry during a meeting earlier this week with Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economic Growth Edward Zammit Lewis.
The chair of the section, Claudine Cassar, also mentioned internationalisation, the possibility of reducing the administrative burden for firms to access funding, and possible initiatives with regards to venture capital to help SMEs grow.
The section represents the interests and concerns of almost 60 members in various meetings with the Government, the relevant authorities and entities as well as with various other organisations and stakeholders.
The meeting was intended to provide understanding of the issues being faced by the sector and to highlight proposals for how such concerns and goals could be tackled and achieved.
