Naval units from a number of Mediterranean countries took part in a joint search and rescue exercise off Malta today as part of Exercise Canale '13, which is coordinated by the AFM.

Taking part were units from Italy, Morocco, Libya, France, Tunisia, Algeria and Malta.

This was the second day of the exercise. Participants yesterday focused on law enforcement, including ship-boarding.

A debriefing will be held tomorrow.
