Times of Malta staff dominated the Malta Journalism Awards ceremony yesterday evening, scooping eight awards between them.

Claudia Calleja and Kristina Chetcuti won the News and Features sections respectively, while Paul Zammit Cutajar picked up two awards in Travel and Sports Photo Journalism.

Kevin Azzopardi netted the award for Sports Journalism while Mark Zammit Cordina won the Broadcast Journalism – Video award.

Christian Peregin bagged the e-Journalism award while Michela Spiteri scooped the George Sammut Opinion Article Award.

The 23rd edition of the Malta Journalism Awards was held at the Palace Hotel in Sliema.

An independent jury made up of Emeritus President Eddie Fenech Adami, Anna Bonanno and Laurence Grech handed the Gold Award to John Inguanez, a former PBS journalist.
