Updated - A group of 23 immigrants has been brought to Malta after their dinghy was intercepted by the AFM this morning.

The group consists of 20 men and three women, one of whom is pregnant.

The dinghy was intercepted 58 nautical miles South of Malta by patrol boat P24.

The boat had developed engine problems and the AFM decided to transfer the migrants to the patrol boat because of deteriorating conditions on board.

The AFM yesterday also intercepted a boat carrying 18 migrants.
