• Fontana parish is celebrating the feast of the Sacred Heart today. A pontifical Mass will be celebrated by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 9am with the participation of the Chorus Urbanus, under the direction of Mro John Galea. The procession, accompanied by La Stella Band, will start at 7.30pm. The Precursor and Ite ad Joseph bands will take part.
• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.
• Xewkija council is today holding Fiori D’Argenta, a festival of culture, history, drama and traditions. A horse défilé, with the participation of the Mosta Scouts Band, will start at 8.45am, ending with the blessing of horses at St John the Baptist Square, followed by an exhibition of antique and classic cars and an exhibition by Maltese Falcon Centre. The Seguna Folk Group will participate. Historical sites will be open to the public.
• A vocal and instrumental concert will be held at St Catherine Street, Xewkija, on Tuesday at 9.15pm on the feast of St John the Baptist. The band will be directed by Mro Anthony Borg.
• A sacred art exhibition will be inaugurated at the Nadur council on Tuesday at 8.30pm to mark the 325th anniversary of the parish.
• The feast of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu will be celebrated on Saturday. Masses will be said at 5, 6, 7 and 11.30am and at 5.30 and 6.30pm. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a pontifical Mass at 9am. At the end of this celebration, the supplication will be recited and the thanksgiving hymn Te Deum will be sung. The liturgy will be animated by the Stella Maris Choir directed by Mro Carmel Grech.
The Mass will be broadcast live on Radio Maria, 102.3FM, while the supplication will also be broadcast live on Radio RTK, 103.0 / 97.6 FM Stereo.
Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna will celebrate Mass at 8pm with the participation of Regina Coeli Choir of Dingli directed by Mro James Chappell, followed by prayers at 10.15pm.

• Emergency Response and Rescue Corps lifeguards will start offering their services at the Blue Lagoon, Comino, today between 9.30am and 6pm until September. The Corps’ hydro ambulance, Lifesaver 1, will be deployed in Comino.
• A drawings exhibition by Graham Gurr, entitled A Touch of Life, is on at Art... e Gallery at One, Library Street, Victoria. It is open all day, including Sundays, from 9.30am to 12.15pm.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Savina church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30pm,followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Gozo Youth Orchestra, in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry and the US Embassy, will present Opera vs Pop Under the Stars at the Gozo Ministry yard on July 29 at 8.30pm. The concert will feature soprano Pamela Agius, bass Noel Galea and singer Ludwig Galea, together with Gozitan and Maltese singers and musicians.
