I refer to the editorial When Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied and Peter Docoutros’ letter of May 22.

There is no doubt that the shareholders of the National Bank of Malta are being denied justice. Their court case has been going on for well over 30 years and, throughout this time, many judges have come and gone.

In deferring the judicial process from month to month, year by year, on any pretext, the courts themselves are hindering the course of justice, whether intentionally or otherwise. At least, that’s the general perception from the lay person’s point of view and this is a cause for serious concern.

Most definitely, “judicial reform must be made a priority” and the reform must be seen to be implemented.
