The 2013 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards took place at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in New York last Monday.

The annual event recognises the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision and lifetime achievement.

Awards were presented to Thom Browne (Menswear Designer of the Year); Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler (Womenswear Designer of the Year); Phillip Lim, for 3.1 Phillip Lim (Accessory Designer of the Year); Pamela Love (Swarovski Award for Accessory Design); Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne (Swarovski Award for Menswear); Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty of SUNO (Swarovski Award for Womenswear); Oscar de la Renta (Founder’s Award in honour of Eleanor Lambert); Riccardo Tisci (International Award); Tim Blanks (Media Award in honour of Eugenia Sheppard); Colleen Atwood (Board of Directors’ Tribute) and Vera Wang (Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award).
