The re-elected president of the Malta Institute of Management, Reuben Buttigieg, has called for a national economic plan to be formulated, saying that this appeal was already been made several times in the past, without success.
The Institute celebrates its 50th anniversary year, a milestone it is marking by the preparation of its strategy document entitled Consolidating Our Origins. Mr Buttigieg said the institute was committed to accessible education and to collaborating with other organisations, including the government, to ensure that the Maltese economy has the adequate resources for sustainable growth.
Mr Buttigieg was unanimously confirmed as president at the institute’s recent annual general meeting. Hector Spiteri was appointed vice-president, while the council members are Edward Firman, Joe Cortis, Lawrence Mizzi, Robert Cachia and Alfred Mifsud.
