The Sliema Philharmonic Society, as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations, recently inaugurated a new musical archive at its premises.
The new musical archive was placed in one of the main halls of the upper part of the premises and will cater for the storage of the several musical items, owned by the society, which were played by the band in the past on various occasions in Malta and abroad.
The archive was designed by artist Ronald Pisani and worked on by Grima Furniture Ltd. It was inaugurated by the society’s president Jesmond Vella and blessed by parish priest Fr Stanley Grech on the society’s Foundation Celebration Day.
The celebrations were held at the society’s premises after Mass was celebrated at the Sacro Cuor parish church.
The Sliema Band, singer Hanna Bonnici and the parish choir also took part.
The Sliema Band Club is located in St Trophimus Street.
