Auditions for Unifaun’s theatre/dance project

Auditions are being held for an upcoming production inspired by the music of British rock legend Peter Gabriel being produced by Unifaun Theatre Productions in January 2014.

The project will be directed and choreographed by Janet Vella.

“This is a very exciting project, as Gabriel was the prime mover behind the term Rock Theatre. And this is what we will be doing; creating theatre inspired by his music,” said Adrian Buckle, artistic director of Unifaun.

Although the production is inspired mostly by the rock legend’s music, the project also draws inspiration from a script penned by Italian cinema director Pier Paolo Pasolini, called Affabulazione. The script focuses mainly on the relationship between a father and a son, although Unifaun’s prodcution will add mythological references and characters.

Auditions will be held at St James Cavalier, Valletta, on June 29 at 6pm. The company is looking for artists of all ages, both male and female, who will be required to participate in a dance routine.
