Emirates will fly again to the Libyan capital Tripoli from September with three weekly flights.

The flights will leave Dubai at 9.30am and make a brief stopover in Malta before departing to Tripoli at 2.45pm.

Emirates said the flight will stop in Malta every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The return flight will leave Tripoli at 5.25pm.

The airline will also offer a weekly capacity of 40 tonnes for cargo.

“The re-introduction of our flights to Tripoli is a further boost to north Africa, coming  after the launch of Emirates’ daily service to Algiers,” Jean Luc Grillet, Emirates Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for Africa said.

Currently Emirates flies every day to Dubai via Cyprus. The new Tripoli flights will replace three of those trips.
