A fashion show at Pjazza Tigné launched Luisa Spagnoli’s spring/summer 2013 collection, featuring two main themes: knitwear and tailoring.
Based in Perugia, Luisa Spagnoli is a high fashion Italian brand whose collections are versatile and eclectic. The brand was introduced in Malta last September and, to date, has been registering a marked success due to its exclusivity and quality.
“Luisa Spagnoli is a brand a woman will instantly recognise as special and classy, not only because of the attractive motifs and features but also because its style exudes elegance and authenticity,” explains Romina Grech Fenech from Sterling Group, representatives of the brand in Malta.
Luisa Spagnoli’s latest collection includes jersey blouses with three-quarter sleeves and marine motifs, short silk dresses embellished with inlays, chemisiers featuring optical prints and small geometrical shapes, ankle-length trousers and sartorial jackets.
While the prints take you back to the 1970s, the 1950s are reflected in little, bon ton dresses with flared skirts to go with micro, light cotton twin sets in candy colours and accessories in pastel shades.
The colour palette ranges from natural hues to the brightest colours, such as coral red, turquoise, various shades of aqua green, and contrasting colours like fuchsia and orange.
In the outerwear part of the collection, trenchcoats and husky jackets ready for the rain and wind stand out in the standard colours of beige, black and blue, successfully mixing British style with Italian elegance. Evening wear overflows with pleats and drapes, all in luxurious materials: chiffon, organza, lace and silk underline the most elegant cuts and the most suitable outfits for cocktail parties and formal occasions.
Accessories have become the stars of the show, giving a personality to the simplest clothes or enhancing the style of the most important outfits.
These include retro jewellery as well as satchel and bucket bags in colourful nappa leather. Clutch bags and jewelled pochettes light up the most elegant evening.
