St Monica School, Gżira, recently held a week of activities related to Maltese culture. These included storytelling by a nun who survived World War II; playing traditional games like Passju, Bum, bum il-bieb and Iż-żunżana ddur iddur; observing lacemaking; working on themes like toys and clothes from the past, feasts, traditions and pastimes. On the last day the children brought to school typical Maltese food such as bigilla, galletti, sundried tomatoes, pastizzi, mqaret, and soppa tal-armla for a food-tasting activity.
