Rolling Stones veteran Sir Mick Jagger has ruled out writing an autobiography.

The singer said he had no desire to spill the secrets of his own life or the people around him, and said he found a previous abandoned attempt to be “boring”.

In an interview with the July edition of Q magazine, Sir Mick said he refused to write a book.

Recalling his earlier attempt in 1983, for which he was paid an advance, Sir Mick said: “I did it for the money in the 80s or early 90s. I started writing it but it was so depressing and boring having to scrape over your past. They wanted me to talk about people close to me and divulge all these secrets. I realised I didn’t want to do that. So I stopped and gave the money back.” (PA)

Stray snake found in wall

A stray snake found by a man while he was drinking his morning tea could have been living in his wall for 18 months.

The man was shocked to discover the corn snake in his flat on Main Roads, Beith, North Ayrshire, and took it to a local vet, who contacted the SSPCA. The snake has been named Rab after the man who found him and is being cared for at the charity’s Glasgow rehoming centre. Neighbours in the block of flats lost a snake 18 months ago but have since moved out. (PA)

Stewardess on drug charge

An air stewardess has been charged following the seizure of around six kilos of cocaine at Heathrow Airport.

Border Force officers discovered the drugs on a bus which had been used to transport air crew following a flight from Lagos to London by Nigerian carrier Arik Air. It is estimated that the cocaine, if cut and sold on UK streets, could have had a potential street value of around £600,000 (€701,800).

The stewardess, Temitayo Daramola, 37, was later charged with attempting to import a class A drug. She was remanded in custody at Uxbridge magistrates in west London until her next court appearance on June 4. (PA)
