Summer tourism arrivals look very promising and could potentially be another record season, the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) said today.

The association said it was working closely with the Malta Tourism Authority, Air Malta, Malta International Airport and other stakeholders to ensure accessibility to island keeps improving and strengthened over the shoulder months.

MHRA president Tony Zahra said the hotel industry was seeing increases in room
revenue but this continued to be eaten up by increased overheads.

Together with the Government, the MHRA was exploring ways and means of decreasing overheads, especially where these were government-induced.
