Malta has ratified the multilateral convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.
The ratification instrument was presented at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) by Malta’s ambassador in France, Pierre Clive Agius.
The Convention was developed jointly by the OECD and the Council of Europe in 1998 and amended by Protocol in 2010.
It is the most comprehensive multilateral instrument available for all forms of tax cooperation, tax evasion and avoidance. The convention was amended following the call by the G20 during the 2009 London Summit.
