Driving all over Europe in a Mini is definitely not something one does every day, but a team of young enthusiasts aided by Mini were doing exactly this. They travelled from Munich to Slovenia to Milan, then Naples, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Belgium Netherlands, Dublin and finally Oxford.

This was done to celebrate 100 years of Oxford Mini, and a group of Maltese enthusiasts and journalists was invited to join them in Naples and drive down to Malta with them.

The drive started from Naples, and despite the constant rain and snow, the group drove hoping to make it in time for the ferry crossing to Malta and on to a Mini gathering at the old Mini plant in Marsa.

Unfortunately, this was not to happen as the ferry crossing was cancelled, leaving the group stranded in Sicily.

And is if this was not enough, one of the Minis in the convoy got a puncture after driving into a pothole. In typical German efficiency, the tyre was changed in no time and they were on their way again.

Thankfully, the Mini Owners Club had waited for the convoy to arrive for a commemorative photo. The rest of the convoy proceeded with its tour the next day.
