The fly over yesterday marked the anniversary of one of the most memorable operations of the Second World War, in which 617 Squadron flew in Operation Chastise, using the famous bouncing bomb to attack the industrial region of Germany, and are now best known by the name of the film that dramatised these events – The Dambusters.
