EBU general assembly to be held in Malta

Minister Manuel Mallia, who is responsible for Public Broadcasting Services, will be heading to Malmo in Sweden tomorrow for a meeting with EBU director-general Ingrid Deltenre o discuss the final preparations for the 70th general assembly of the European Broadcasting Union, being held in Malta in June.

The EBU is the world's foremost alliance of public service media organisations, with members in 56 countries in Europe and beyond.

The assembly was first held in Malta in 1995.

The meeting will also be attended by PBS chairman Tonio Portughese and CEO Anton Attard.

The minister will then attend the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

He wished Malta’s representative Gianluca luck for the contest and congratulated him and the Maltese delegation for their professionalism in yesterday’s semi-final.
