The handball season will wrap up this weekend with the finals of the knock-out competitions.

In the men’s category, Phoenix SMS Mondial put on a brave display in the first half of their semi-final but eventually succumb to a stronger Luxol Si Mangia who won the match 24-14.

In the second semi-final, La Salle BHS ousted sporting rivals Aloysians Von Taine, winning by a 10-goal margin, 30-20.

La Salle and Luxol will clash in the final for the second year running with the latter taking home the silverware in the previous encounter.

In the women’s semi-finals, La Salle ZT Developments eased past Luxol 29-9.

In the final, La Salle will face Aloysians Żmerċ who dismissed the challenge of Phoenix Dolcino 16-9 in the other semi-final.

This will be the seventh KO final between these two teams with La Salle enjoying an excellent head-to-head record with five wins to Aloysians’ one.

The knock-out finals will be played this Saturday at the University Sports Hall.

The women’s showdown starts at 2pm followed by the men’s title match at 4pm.
