I was listening to the excellent BBC World Service programme titled From Our Own Correspondents on May 10.
It included one of their correspondents visiting Malta, as there were strong murmurings among European Union countries that Malta would be the next country to seek a bailout after Cyprus.
After going on a harbour cruise, in which he described Valletta’s characteristics in a very colourful manner, the correspondent interviewed Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
Muscat was naturally on the defensive and asserted that Malta had sufficient stability to avoid this possibility.
The programme was well worth listening to. (Click through Google, BBC World Service, Programmes, From Our Own Correspondents, Listen again, Thursday, 10th May.)
