The Premier League trophy again found its way to the Old Trafford boardroom as many pundits had anticipated for almost the entire 2012-13 campaign.

Manchester United were hurt last season when arch-rivals Manchester City wrestled the crown from their hands with the last kick of the competition. So, revenge was sweet for United and their fans, who celebra-ted in style, this time around.

A hat-trick from Premier League leading marksman Robin van Persie floored Aston Villa last month as United mathematically secured their 20th championship with some games to spare.

Last week, Alex Ferguson an-nounced that he was retiring after 26 years at the helm. He will be replaced by David Moyes, currently managing Everton.

Ferguson has almost been invincible over the past two decades or so with 13 Premier League titles under his belt plus many other prestigious honours.

United are the team with most championship wins in England with 20 titles, two more than Liverpool.
