It is no secret that the younger generation is expected to live a shorter life than their parents because of the way they eat. The key to tackling this problem lies in the kitchen. And to follow a good eating habit, a Jamie Oliver cooking course is being held for children only by the International Vocational College (Malta).

The course focuses on giving children the skills to prepare delicious and nutritious home-cooked food, using fresh ingredients, as well as understanding the value of passing on cooking knowledge.

“I felt that I could do more to help. I wanted to see a cooking course in schools that would not only be fun and easy but also to be truly inspiring,” said British chef Jamie Oliver.

Children attending the course will be able to cook and have fun two mornings a week. At the end of the course they will obtain an international BTEC qualification, which will add points to the O levels.

To guide students through the qualification, every single recipe is backed up by loads of step-by-step photography, useful fact sheets and web links.
