The director general (Consumer Affairs) at the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a public warning statement, according to Article 8 of the Consumer Affairs Act (Cap. 378), regarding orders by consumers for goods and services from Joseph, known as Giuseppe, also known as Joe Azzopardi, holder of identity card number 753355M:

1) personally;

2) personally operating under the commercial name Bottega del Marmista; and

3) as director for and on behalf of the company Bottega del Marmista Ltd (C 31345), Triq Ħaż-Żebbuġ, Attard and operating from Durumblat Road, limits of Mosta.

The trader is requesting deposits from consumers for marble works and laying of marble, committing himself to execute and deliver the works and material within the period indicated by him but failing to do so, while retaining the deposits to the consumers’ detriment.

This has been repeatedly established by a number of decisions of the Consumer Claims Tribunal, from where it results that the above-mentioned trader fails to abide by the obligations he has taken upon himself with regard to the above-mentioned services.
