Maltese rock band Winter Moods are back with a new CD that places their passion for music alongside their commitment to support philanthropic causes.
All the money collected from sales of the CD, which was launched during the Puttinu Cares event last weekend and is priced at €5, will go to the foundation, which constantly strives to provide support and accommodation for families of cancer patients who require medical treatment abroad.
The CD was recorded at Temple Studios and features five songs, among them the band’s hit song Miss You, featuring international tenor Joseph Calleja, as well as a specially-recorded rendition of The Tramps’ classic song Xemx. The track also features Richard and Mark Grech, sons of the late Dominic Grech, who wrote the song.
The original version of Miss You was featured on Winter Moods’ Argento album, but the version featured here was released last year, topping all the local radio charts.
The other three tracks are Friends featuring John McDonough on oboe, which had first appeared on the band’s Butterfly House album; an acoustic version of Miss You with Joseph Calleja and featuring Carrie Haber on piano and strings by Michel Bisceglia, and Winter Moods’ interpretation of Toast to Freedom, the song written by Carl Carlton and Larry Campbell to commemorate 50 years of Amnesty International.
