Walk against dog cruelty

A dog walk in remembrance of Star, the dog whose horrific tale of torture made headlines in 2011, is being organised by World Event to End Animal Cruelty Malta.

The walk, starting opposite the Preluna Towers in Sliema and ending at the Love monument in St Julian’s, will be held on May 19 at 6pm. Participants are encouraged to take their dogs along with them.

The case had sparked outrage among animal lovers leading to a massive protest against animal cruelty.

Star had been shot at point blank range and buried alive.

She was rescued but eventually died from an acute inflammation of the pancreas.
