The Malta Handball Association teamed up with Breaking Limits, a local NGO promoting awareness and inclusion among society by giving more voice to disabled persons, to organise a Wheelchair Handball Festival.

The event, staged in conjunction with the Malta Paralympic Committee and Inspire, was held at Tal-Qroqq recently.

Participants were engaged in friendly games. The association, however, see the innovative game in a more defined role on their agenda. In fact, they aim to have competitive Wheelchair Handball tournaments featuring regularly in their annual calendar.

As from season 2013-14, the MHA slotted three half-day tournaments in its schedule and in the coming weeks a committee will be formed to draft the first regulations for these tournaments.
