Passenger movements at Malta International Airport grew by nine per cent in April to reach a record for the month of 331,369.

MIA said the record was a result of an 11 per cent increase in seat capacity for the month.

Cargo and mail registered a drop of six per cent when compared to the same month last year.

The British, Italian and Spanish markets all registered increases while the German and French markets declined.

Between January and April, passenger movements increased by nine per cent.
