Last January I reported to the Water Services Corporation that my water meter was not registering my usage.
One would expect this to be rectified as soon as possible by the corporation, so as to be able to charge for as much water usage as possible. It is now May and I have reported this matter four or five times since, but still the WSC has not found the time to send a person (because that’s all it needs to change a meter) to Żebbuġ, at most a five-minute drive away. The job might take 20 minutes so that’s less than half an hour in all.
If I wanted to, and I was a person with a devious mind, I could fill a water bowser without having to pay for it. I ask the minister and corporation, why present the consumer with such temptations?
After all, it would be the average Joe who would have to pay for it after water consumption bills have increased to cover the costs.
