A King Air B200 maritime patrol aircraft of the Armed Forces of Malta has taken part in a navigation exercise in Rabat, Morocco.

The aircraft was also displayed in the Royal Morocco Air Show.

Whilst in Rabat, the AFM Aircraft was inspected by a delegation from the Royal Moroccan Navy, which is considering acquiring a number of such aircraft to patrol Morocco’s significant coastline and it’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

Malta and Morocco are both active members of the 5+5 Defence initiative and together with Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia will participate in Exercise Canale later on this year. Canale is an Italo/Maltese Aero Maritime Exercise organised under the aegis of the 5+5 Defence Initiative. The exercise which this year will be hosted by the Armed Forces of Malta, will take place in June.
