• The Our Lady of Consecration Committee Movement is holding a prayer meeting at Girgenti, Siġġiewi, to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the placing of the statue of Our Lady at Girgenti and to pray for world peace and unity.
Today’s prayer meeting starts off with a pilgrimage at 6pm from near the bridge at the end of the old road.There will be a consecration of families and a Marian talk by Fr Martin Mamo, OFM Cap.
• A bazaar in aid of Fatima Sanctuary in Guardamangia is being held at the parish centre until May 19 from 9.30am to noon and from 2.30 to 7pm. Brand new items will be sold at bargain prices.
• A biblical course on the Book of the Apocalypse will be conducted by Fr Martin Cilia, MSSP, at the Birkirkara Oratory, run by the Missionary Society of St Paul, on Tuesday, May 14, 21 and 28 from 7.15 to 9pm.

• A Coping With Labour Pain workshop will be held on Tuesday between 6 and 8pm at Mama Knows, Triq il-Ħuttafa, Fgura. The two-hour workshop for mothers and birth partners will feature natural ways of coping with pain during contractions and childbirth.
Discussing and practising birth balls, massage techniques and different positions, the class is a must for those wanting to decrease the use of intervention.
The cost is €10 per couple.

• A sale of antique furniture will be held from Wednesday to next Sunday at St Helen’s parish centre, Birkirkara (entry through Sanctuary Street) from 9am to noon and 5 to 7.30pm and on Sunday from 9am to noon.
• To Live is to Evangelise is the title of a seminar to be led by Fr Jim Kroeger MM, on Thursday from 7 to 9pm at the Missionary Society of St Paul Oratory, Birkirkara. During the talk, Fr Kroeger will answer the questions Why evangelise? and Why engage in mission? and offer a better understanding of the missionary nature of the gift of faith. Entrance is free. • The family sub-committee of the Żejtun local council will be organising a weekend break at the Seabank Hotel, Mellieħa, from Friday to next Sunday. For more information, contact the council offices.
• Caritas Co-Operators will be holding an outing on May 15 at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian’s. The day will start at 10.30am with coffee and tea, followed by a talk by Bernard Grech at 11am, Mass at noon and lunch at 1pm. Cards may be played in the afternoon. There will be free parking underground.

• On the 20th anniversary of the founding of the first youth section in Mqabba, the Youths Section of Our Lady of the Lily Band Club of Mqabba is holding a dinner on May 18 at 7.30pm under a large tent in the village’s main square.
The menu will consist of a three-course meal, costing €20 for adults and €7 for children. Singer Ludwig Galea will entertain the guests. T-Shirts and other souvenirs related to the feast of Our Lady will be on sale.
