Nadur parish is celebrating its 325th anniversary with a series of activities, including a thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Bishop Mario Grech last Sunday.
After Mass, Mgr Grech opened an exhibition of items related to the installation of the parish, including several abbozzi of the church’s paintings, sacred silver objects donated to the parish by Giovanni Gourgion in 1689, a bell and an umbrella used in the Viaticum, books and manuscripts, and an antique painting of Our Lady which used to be hung in the Comino chapel.
A painting of Our Saviour by Ġanni Vella, executed 100 years ago on the occassion of the International Eucharistic Congress held in Malta, was put on the main altar for the veneration of the faithful.
