Outgoing PN leader Lawrence Gonzi and three of the four PN leadership candidates cast their ballots together at PN headquarters this morning.

They were followed, shortly after, by former leader Eddie Fenech Adami.

Dr Gonzi was greeted with applause as he arrived accompanied by candidates Francis Zammit Dimech, Mario de Marco, Simon Busuttil and Ray Bugeja.

They voted together except Mr Bugeja, who despite being an election candidate, was not eligible to vote since he is not a PN councillor.

A total of 901 members of the PN National Council are eligible to vote up to 9 p.m.  Just under 200 had cast their vote by 11.30 a.m.
